Geoffrey Bawa (1919-2003) architect and the founding father of “Tropical Modernism”. This year I was finally the very lucky person to travel to Sri Lanka and to see with my very own eyes some of the masterpieces by Geoffrey Bawa, immense architect of his time. Visiting his country house in Lunuganga, south of Colombo, it was suddenly like being a little intimate with a man you’ve never met, spending 24 hours in his private country house, getting to understand his extraordinary architcture and sense of style, surrounded by his collection of art, drawings and furnitures in a beautiful landscape on the “Salt River” Lunuganga. I realised that I had way to many pictures from this place, I just had to make it into 2 posts. I also think that there are many things to say and explore around a man like G.Bawa.
