Made by Legacy Market in Bangkok

Markets have been tremendously popular since ever in Thailand. Here in Bangkok, the increase of markets over the last 10 years I’ve been living here has gone from; floating market and weekend market to farmer’s market, vintage market, hipster’s market, design & creative market and “cool people’s” market and on and on…

It’s such a big crowd at these markets, it attracts a very large number of all sorts of people of many different ages.

Many of us, for sure, are looking for some different shopping, having some food and drinks while sometimes even listen to music. People might look for a certain harmony, I do anyway! far away from commercial madness; malls which are mostly these days loud and vulgar.

This was my first time at Made by Legacy market, but not the first time for this market; it was its 9th edition.

Because these markets need a really large space, they tend to end up far away in warehouses and in the outskirts of the city.

I must admit that I’ve been a bit lazy, to actually make the trip and to see for myself what’s really going on. But this time I took action together with friends and it wasn’t such a hassle to get there! Very easy access with BTS and a small trip with the crossing ferry over the river to the Thonburi side. You could easily drive there as well, but leave late in the evening then to beat the traffic.

We had some drinks and great fish & chips! strolled around between the vendors, everything from accessories, vintage clothes, furniture, potted plants to shirt makers and shoemakers. I loved the vinyl market where you could sit down and play the vinyl on the turntable.

On our way out we found the outstanding ATM truck, Kasikorn’s; we bring you money where ever you are!! hahaha! The display of Harley-Davidson’s bikes and one more Dj playing before rounding up our evening.
