The isle of Ré, L’île de Ré; on the beautiful French Atlantic coast.
I’ve been coming to this beautiful island for more than 20 years now and I have to admit that I have a tendency to end up taking the same kind of pictures… It’s not about boredom, I think it’s simply when looking at the same things over and over, I get somehow a bit blind. Same as with love perhaps…? obviously my point of view only; over the years we might not really see the person in front of us from every different angle and with all the changes over time… so we might just have fallen into bad habits… of not really seeing?
So I gave myself a way of trying out a new angle; I just used my phenomenal fujinon lens 35mm f1.4 r, which correspond more or less to a traditional 50mm. When I started out in photography it was the only lens I had in the beginning and for a very long time I only had fixed lenses, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and a 80mm, zooming didn’t exist to me then…. Later I became more comfortable and using zoom lenses more often, which is very common for everyone using a camera nowadays, so stepping outside my “zoom-comfort zone” I wanted to see if I could find that passion again for love and photography.
