Architect Geoffrey Bawa (1919-2003) and the founding father of “Tropical Modernism”

This year I was finally the lucky person to travel to Sri Lanka. And to see with my very own eyes some of the truly great masterpieces by Geoffrey Bawa. He was an outstanding architect of his time and I had the most lovely of visits in my life to his country estate in Lunuganga, just south of Colombo.

It was kind of a strange feeling, spending 36 hours in Mr.Bawa’s private country house on the “Salt River” Lunuganga. Living in his home with all his private belongings, collections and art pieces.

I realised that I had too many pictures from this place, so I just had to turn it into 2 stories on my website.
